Hello Fans, Friends and Family

Saturday, May 1st:  Woke up this morning and it was snowing again.  Went inside the truck stop and had a McDonalds breakfast.  They told us that the road ahead was closed because of an 18 wheeler accident about 15 miles down the road.  It was probably snowing so I wouldn’t have tried to start biking and get caught in the road closure.   About 10:AM it looked like it was starting to clear up.  They told us the road closure was opened up again.

Decided to get dressed and ready to ride.  Thought I might be able to get at least 40 miles in going over the passes.  I put all my cold weather gear on because it was cccollld.  After about 12 miles while going over the first pass it started to sleet for the next 4 miles.  I reached the summit and saw this great sign telling me about a nice downhill ride.  I was sweating from the uphill ride so the downhill ride was very cold.  About 2 miles down the hill and the snow was all gone.  Still very cold.  Farther down the road went through a short burst of rain.  Did I say it was cold?  Actually everyonce in a while the sun would shine through the clouds for about 5 minutes and it would feel like a warm spring day.  Arrived in Belgrade, MT after 84 miles of cycling.  It would have been only 80 miles but I lost my SPOT GPS and had to ride 2 miles back downhill on my third hill until I found it.  Good thing it is a GPS and we can track it.  I called Judy and she looked on the computer and told me about where it was.  We will be spending the night here in Belgrade at another truck stop.  This is the first of the month and beginning with this month I will be giving a breakdown of where I stand on my ride:

Number of days since beginning:  36                                                                                                                                                                                                                 Number of days cycling:  29                                                                                                                                                                                                                                Number of miles cycled:  2,142                                                                                                                                                                                                                   Percentage of ride completed:  2,142 out of 10,000 miles = 21.42%                                                                                                                                                Percentage of donation goal achieved:  $1,047.00 out of $10,000 goal = 10.47%

Our thanks to everyone who has donated so far.  Remember this ride is to raise money and awareness for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society and every dollar received will be greatly appreciated.  And so, until next time:  Saving Lives One Mile at a Time…Wes & Judy – – – http://www.jacobsonexpress.com
