Hello Fans, Friends and Family

Wednesday, June 23rd:  On Monday we left Blair, NE on our return trip to Callaway for all the festivities.  On the way back we stopped at Gottberg Bewery and Pub in Columbus, NE and picked up a jug of their famous root beer and a jug of pale ale that we will take with us to Judy’s reunion.  We then drove to Duncan, NE where they make Dorothy Lynch Salad Dressing.  We were hoping to take a tour of the facilities, but they like to keep their facilities a closely guarded secret.  We did, however, get a chance to talk with Gary and Willie who gave us some insight on their business and also a free bottle of their regular and fat-free salad dressing.  From there we drove to Grand Island and met with Don and Jolynn Scholz at Red Lobster for dinner.  We stayed there for such a long time sharing conversation that we had 2 different waitresses, Sarah and Jennie.  Both waitresses were very friendly and helpful.  Jolynn and Judy both taught grade school together at the same school.  It was late when we left Grand Island and for many miles we saw what looked like millions of fire flies all along the side of the highway.  I don’t know how many hundreds of those fire flies ended up on our windshield and the front of our motorhome.  We didn’t get back to Callaway until almost midnight.  Tuesday we just stayed inside and caught up on our laundry and other chores.  This morning, after breakfast a Jo’s Cafe, we drove to Kearney so that Judy could get a manicure and pedicure and look nice for her alumni.  While she was getting that done, I found a bike shop, “The Bike Shed” at 1800 2nd Ave in Kearney, NE where I purchased another spare bicycle tire and bicycle chain from a very helpful girl by the name of Crystal.  We will be going to the airport here in Kearney to pick up Judy’s brother, Bob and his wife Eileen.  Don’t know if I will get very many more miles in by this weekend, but you can bet if I get the chance I will get out there.  Until next time . . .
