Hello Fans, Friends and Family

Monday, June 28th:  We’re on the road again!!  Judy and I drove out to Blair, NE, where I had previously cycled to last week.  Along the way we stopped in the small town of Dannebrog, NE.  It is the Danish capital of Nebraska.  We stopped in the Danish Baker which is also the visitor center.  We talked with Tom Schroeder, the proprietor, and he gave us a lot of good information about the town including a local author and historian, Roger Welsch, who has a show on cable channel “RFD” called “Postcards from Nebraska”.  When Judy was in college she took some courses taught by Roger Welsch.   Before we left, Tom Schroeder picked up his guitar and said he would play a song he wrote.  It was a song dedicated to our troops about our freedom that is provided by those that serve the country in the Armed Forces.  Tom also gave us a donation for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society and we purchased a bag of pastries and thanked him for everything.  The town has a street named for Roger Welsch and a biking and hiking trail  in a local park.  Once we arrived in Blair, it was time for me to get on my bike and start riding again.  It was 6:30 PM before I started my ride.  I crossed over the Missouri River and now I am in Iowa.  I was able to cycle 33 miles before it was too dark to continue.  We will spend the night just west of Portsmouth, IA and try to get an early start tomorrow morning.  Until then . . .
