Hello Fans, Friends and Family

Thursday, July 1st:  Still hanging out in Des Moines, IA with my brother Forey and his wife Susan.  Took a tour of the city visiting some of his favorite spots.  Among them were B-Bop’s for a quick hamburger, a suspended bridge across the Des Moines River (still under construction) and a pagoda leading to a nice garden along the river.  We also were able to view the state capital building.  The dome of the building is painted in gold and shines very brightly in the sun.  I especially enjoyed the view of the capital building in the reflective windows of the buillding across the street.  Later in the evening that had a live orchestra playing at the park area surrounding the capital building.  The lights behind the orchestra are the cars and city lights giving a unique lighting effect.  At the end of the concert there was an impressive fireworks display that my photos did not give justice to.  There was an estimated 100,000 people in attendance at the concert that was put on as a benefit to get canned goods for those in need.  Tomorrow I will say goodbye to my brother and continue my ride.  Until then . . .
