Hello Fans, Friends and Family

Monday, August 16th:  We had a very nice stay at Kelly’s RV Park in Callahan, FL.  Laundry and shower facilities were very much appreciated.  After emptying the RV tanks and adding more fresh water to the motorhome, Judy was ready to go, but will give me a little headstart before she begins.  I leave Kelly’s RV Park and start my ride just before 10:00AM.  The first 30 miles of road had little or no shoulder on a 2 lane highway. The traffic was what I would consider moderate, but there was quite a bit of truck traffic.  At times the traffic was a little too close for comfort.  From that time on I am on a 4 lane highway with a good 4 feet if shoulder to ride on.  I feel I can relax a little now.  I arrive at Walmart in Starke, FL after 56 miles of cycling.  We are still on Hwy 301 and are taking a detour from our scheduled route.  We had planned to begin heading west by this time, but instead we will continue south to Port Charlotte, FL.  We will spend a few days there visiting with a local bike club before continuing the ride back to California.  Remember that this ride is to raise money and awareness for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.  You may donate by visiting http://www.gsf.lls.llsevent.org/JACOBSONEXPRESS.  Until next time . . .
