Hello Fans, Friends and Family

Wednesday, August 18th:  Last night we had quite a bit of rain with thunder and lightning for most of the night.  Left Bushnell, FL at 7:30 this morning.  The roads today are widely varied from tree-lined roads sometimes with and sometimes without a shoulder to ride on, to divided highways, to roads with rolling hills and of course major city roads, some of them with an actual bike lane.

We stopped and had the lunch buffet at pizza hut today.  We arrive at Walmart in Wachula, FL after 91 miles of cycling.  There is a cooler breeze today with clouds in the sky but at the present time it does not look like rain.  Tomorrow morning I am planning on riding to Arcadia, FL to meet with cyclists from a club called “Peace River Riders”.  This club was formed by a cyclist from my bike club in California called “SCOR” who has moved to Port Charlotte, FL.  Some of the members will ride to Arcadia where we will meet for breakfast after which we will all cycle back to Port Charlotte.  We will spend a few days there getting to know them, sharing some of our adventures and going on a club ride with them.  Remember that this ride is being done to raise money and awareness for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.  You may donate by visiting http://www.gsf.lls.llsevent.org/JACOBSONEXPRESS.  Until next time . . .
