Hello Fans, Friends and Family

Thursday, September 9th:  I am sorry it has been so long since my last blog.  We woke up Tuesday morning to a heavy rainfall.  We tried to wait it out, but by noon it had not yet stopped.  We were less than 50 miles from the home of Judy’s son, Frank Bonde.  and decided to drive up there to wait out the storm.  Even though I am not on my bike, I still tried to take pictures while Judy was driving.  While going under a bridge, Judy commented that it looked about as close to a drainage ditch that she wanted to drive on.

We arrive in Bells, Texas and find a place to park.  We don’t have good internet service here, but  today we finally found a spot where we could make a connection.  In the group picture you can see me, Judy, her son Frank, his wife Laurie and one of their sons Matt.  We are enjoying our time with them watching old family films, playing games and catching up on current happenings.  Another son of Frank and Laurie will be coming to visit later tonight.  His name is Josh and he is currently in the Air Force.  It was still raining this morning and is finally starting to show signs of letting up.  If the weather looks good tomorrow we will resume our travels after a morning visit.

My goal is to bicycle at least 10,000 miles around the United States, raising $1.00 per mile to help in the fight against Leukemia and Lymphoma.  Donations may be made by visiting http://www.gsf.lls.llsevent.org/JACOBSONEXPRESS.  During the month of September you can have your donation count twice as much.  My friend, Larry Stern, has offered to match donations made to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.  You can see a copy of his offer with details, at the end of my blog in Friday’s post.  Until next time . . .
